« on: Jun 05, 2011, 02:38:46 PM »
83' yota 4x4 5 sp.
Can someone give me the torque setting for the trans output shaft yoke nut?
I'm changing the seal and can't find the info in my Haynes.
Thank you

Check the fsm to be sure.

Thank you for the info.
"I used a 4 foot cheater pipe and it still wasnt tight enough".
A four foot cheater would not tighten it enough, I'm missing something here guys, if it takes 90 or so pounds why would a cheater bar not do the job, is the yoke not seated or stays loose??
Sorry for being dumb but I don't want to mess this up, I just spent a pile of money on this rig and want to it do right. :)

I am pretty sure it is 90. I was able to get that with my 1/2" torque wrench and have not had any problems with it. Just checked my 83 FSM, 80-101ft/lbs. Hope this helps.
