new truck, some questions
« on: Jul 06, 2009, 09:53:22 AM »
Hi,
so far I have been dealing only with (Diesel powered) Land Cruisers, but finally got a pickup. It is Mark's beautifully renovated 81 sr5 (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=752318&highlight=partial), and he did an amazing job.
I'd like to finish the interior, and would need some advice on some parts.
Does anyone sell the carpet kit? or molded rubber mats?
Seat covers-original or good aftermarket?
Seat protection covers?
Anyone tried if the SOR seat bottom fits these seats? The seem to be very similar to the Land Cruiser seats (http://www.sor.com/sor/cat308.tam?xax=18309&page%2Ectx=cat308%2Etam   down to the middle of the page).

I'd like to keep this truck original and preserve it in it's near perfect condition.

Thanks, cheers,
jan

Your best bet on the seat would be an auto upholstry shop, my Dad had the seat in his 83 re done and other than a slight difference in the pattern the seat was stock appearing but had better/extra foam and was way better.  The colors were right on and no need to mess with fitting another mfg. seats in there.

you can get nice seats from a Celica or Supra that fit almost bolt in and are very comfortable
