1989 22RE truck and 1992 V-6 truck/ what parts will swap?
« on: May 15, 2007, 07:54:13 PM »
My friend wrecked his 1992 V-6, 5speed, 4x4 and wants to sell it fast and cheap. I have an 89 22RE 5 speed with ADD.

I looked up his trany code and it is an R150F-A and his diff. ratios are 4.30 and as best as I could tell (the sheet metal is kinda wrapped around the lower portion of the diff) was also ADD.

I'm sure the center sections will work but will the R150F-A tranny and it's transfercase bolt upto my 22RE?

What about the rear end housing?

What else will fit or could I use in my truck?

Thanks
Ken

you could either  fix  the runner  with the front clip from your truck  or  you could  part the runner out,  the  R150  could  be bolted to your 22RE  IF   you have a R151 turbo tranny bellhousing,  but they are hard to find

either way  the parts  are worth some :bling:

Thank you for the reply.

As far as his truck goes, it has a pretty bad kink in the right front frame.

It sounds like he has sold the engine, tires and wheels for $2000 :yikes: (about 150,000 on the engine, nice wheels and year old tires with alot of wear from alignment problems.

Do you know if the front R&P on a 92 V-6 truck is the same diameter as used on an 89?

I was supprised to find that the gear ratio (per the vin) is 4.30 . This truck is a 5 speed and I thought that 4.30 came on trucks with automatics.

Will the rear springs and rear end from a 92 fit on an 89?

Thanks again.
