Totally dude, just do it once, even if it takes longer to save up the cash.  You'd hate to have to hear "I told ya so".  Go 1 ton from the start.  I did exactly what your doing (kinda) and learned the hard way.  But I did it by trying to build the burliest baddest toy axles.  No matter how strong the shafts are, the achilles on a toy axle is the 8 inch r&p.  So I tossed everything and built a 14b and a 60.  I spent soo much more money than needed since I did it all twice ya know.

$800 for a D60 and 14 bolt with 4.10s. leave them 4.10 and weld them up

highsteer and accessories $500

brake accessories $200

soo, probably $1500

Longfield makes birfields that are stronger than dana 60. and marlin makes the hub gear that keeps up with the shafts. all you have to do cryo your gears and your toyota 8" is just as strong if not stronger than a 60

marlin doesnt make hub gears. its longfield. no a toyota axle will never be stronger than a 60. theres never been r/p tests done either comparing the gear sets. just shafts and hubs.

I'm bringing this back from the dead.  I blew a Warn 35 spline hub on my 60 on potato salad hill!  A mix of girls watchin, a crowd gathering, and my stupid ass behind the wheel @ WOT!  I also blew a rear u-joint but I run those flanges that have the toy bolt patterns, so I got toy u-joints on my drivelines.  I saw that tg has these "stronger" u-joints? Experience? Discuss?

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

damn, so if you broke that and you are 22r then it really doesnt matter what axles you run cause pretty much anything can break

power has a role but the low gear bind up situations are where a lot of :pokinit: breaks

Soo last nite I blew my t-case output and another rear u-joint.  That's 4 u-joints now.  boggerunner and I tore out the case, installed a new output, put the case back in, all while being in a river.  it was awesome!  I think he's gonna post some pics
