new to building trucks
« on: May 27, 2009, 01:57:59 AM »
I have a 91 extra cab toyota pickup, 4 cylinder. I finally finish the sas on the front. Now working on the rear. Not to sure of my self all ways questioning myself. So anyway I tacked the new spring hanger 5" forward. the hanger doesn't sit to flush on the frame. Is that okay? Do I just need to fill in the gap? I'm putting johnny joints on. so I just place the joints the same place where the shackle hanger was? Is that how? so just with the leaf spring hanging. How should the shackle angle look? My angle is angling to the front of the truck. maybe inch to 2 inch off center. Will the shackle move back when I put weight on it. And I'm trying use the same perch's on the axle.trying not to cut and weld new one on. Will the angle be okay? thanks. I'll try to put some pictures on next visit. thanks
