Topic: Computer problems, & crap!!

Hey, I've been having problems with a WinAntiPro 2007 virus/trojan/spyware.  It's rendering my virus programs inoperable, and I'm getting a crap of pop-ops and I've got my firewall, pop-up blockers, and anything I can think of max'd out before this got on my computer.  I've had to delete one virus program and install another just to get a virus scan and protection on here.  And it's still giving me headaches!  I've done some research online and there seems to be alot of answers but now sure fire solutions!  I don't want to pay to have this taken care of!  But I need this stopped.  It's shutting down my toolbar at the bottom of the screen, and I've gotten alot of .dll problems saying that it isn't there anymore and I have to download a new .ddl program.  I've spendt the last week trying to get rid of this and it's killing me!  It seems to be teamed up with a vundo/virtumonde/winfixer trojans. I've gotten reports that SmitFraudFix will take care of this!  But like I said I haven't gotten the sure fire yeah it'll fix it!  I've the download to supposedly fix it, but I'm gonna wait till I can get all our pics downloaded and all vital info secure!  Any help please! 

If the one program doesn't help any, I will be taking it into a shop to be taken care of!  I've read alot of fixes that seem to be beyond my comfort level of rewriting certain lines of code to delete most of this!

Personally, I'd back up all my files and format the hard-drive, and re-install everything nice and clean. Its kinda a PITA, but not really that hard. Just make sure you back-up everything first, or else it's gone for good.

Some programs will allow you to re-install them over the original, re-writing some of the corrupted files, or replacing lost ones. Sounds like this virus progam is deleting/changing them, so not sure that would help much.

or just back everything up and reinstall.  just dont back up and reinstall the virus.

Yea until you find that they've manafested themselves in the registry files and your pulling your hair out deleteing a million fraud/corrupt files.. lol


nah like most have suggested, just backup all your useful data and reformat the computer.

Have you tried ad.aware yet?    make sure you run it a few times until it finds nothing.

If this does not fix it then the trojan/virus is implanted itself into the MBR (master boot record)  and its loading before any of the other programs have a chance to load and catch it during the POST.

LOL..  this is very true.  I have spent well past 3 hours manually scraping the registry clean at work, only to finally have to reinstall.  Sometimes they are like mushrooms, as soon as you pluck them they release a bunch of spores that infect new areas.  that has usually been with browser hijackers though.  most trojans are easy.

I guess i don't like being defeated sometimes.

Well, after trying everything that all my friends are telling me to try and get rid of this crap.  This all includes IT guys from work, co-workers that are computer geeks, a buddy that works for the state of Oregon in the computer division, and anybody that has any experience with computers.  I've done it all, and it's stopped for a couple days, YEAH!, but now it's back worse than before, BOOOOO!!  I thought about going to the place I got the computer and having him try to fix it and save all my programs and stuff.  But I can't afford to see paying $100+ dollars when all I have to do is reboot the entire system with my recovery discs.  That way it will bring it back to when it was new!  And if that doesn't work then I'll have to pay for him to fix it!  I've tried everything and it's no use! 

The computer is the greatest thing ever invented and the worst!  Hopefully you all will see me back soon!
