dumb newbie question
« on: Feb 16, 2007, 09:41:31 AM »
need confirmation i know that v6 toyota thirds bolt right up into a 4 cylinder housing.  i know the v6's are beefier. but woulda 4cylinder work out in a stock v6 housling  on a stock rig.  i have afriend that needs a new diff. instead of finding a v6 third can i just install the 4cylinder one.  i know it should bolt up but are there any drawbacks to that.  no locker no bug tires or anything. let me know thanks.  sorry for the stupid quesstion i dont want to buy the 4cylinder diff if i shouldnt use it

thats the great thing about toyota axles, the third members are totaly interchangeable, v6 to 4cyl, or 4 cyl to v6 it doesnt matter!!
