Take a look on www.rockcrawler.com in the rides section and find Tony Gressett (T-Bone), his is the cleanest around that uses the factory hard top and I have gotten a response via email in the past when I inquired about his springs.

And now for the stupid newbie ?   :haha:

.....is it really worth the hassle? I am on the fence about this because I want to carry a spare tire but I don't a rear tire on a swingout bumper set up. I would rather put it inside with my tools and not worry about it or have to do the work of bobbing it. I can see the advantage of departure angle.  Maybe shorten up enough to put the tire in at an angle (kinda prerunner style) with tools underneath the front of it. Best of both I guess.   :dunno:  I am trying to make the decision soon before I start building bumpers and stuff. What to do?!
`87 runner....it was stock....now sas'd, 37's, duals, geared/ locked, 10in bob, half doors, rock lights. etc., etc.,.........coming soon a 3.4 swap!!!

I'm going to loose the frount sliding side window. I also plan on movin my rear axle back about 2 inches. I should be more than happy with the departure angle after that. There will still be room for tools in the back after the bobb. I'm planning on a swing out tire carrier. I also have to redo my frount springs...ditching the bottom leaf so it will flex better.
