Kool to be a Newbie once again
« on: Apr 29, 2005, 09:26:59 AM »
Well I finally did it, became a 6 bolter and bought an '84 Runner.
I really like the truck so far it has pretty low miles and seems to be pretty tight.
I have been reading the board for a couple weeks now and I would like
to compliment the members on being so helpful and informative without the attitude you experience on some of the other boards.

The ride - 1984 4Runner 5spd 22re
The previous owner enjoyed painting many of the interior parts Red, adding double bladed wipers, mud flaps and painting things that were plastiic silver so they have that Chrome look. Suffice it too say I can get away with looking like a true natvie the next time I head down to Baja.

It still has the great 80's graphics on it, I'll get some pics before I start working on her but as the late Tony Montoya  says " she's  a cream puff".

I wish all well and look forward to soaking up yall's knowledge like a sponge.  Thanks, I'll be hear all week and please remember to tip your waitress's.

Happy trails,

Nick
`84 runner

Welcome, thanks for the member compliments, and are you sure it's an 84? EFI was only available starting in 1985. I'll bet your truck is a October - December of 1984 :gap:

most the guys i know with the 5-6 inch lift get the shims on their solid axle as well, corrects all the angle problems. doin the fender work would be cheaper, but wouldnt be easy to cut it exactly the same on all 4 fenders
