88 4runner essential mods
« on: Nov 29, 2016, 01:54:32 PM »
Hey guy's I've wanted an off-road truck all my life and I recently got a stock 88 sr5 4runner for a great price from my dad's friend. Keeping in mind that I will be daily driving it, what would be some of the most important mods to do besides the obvious tires?

Thanks,

I'd go  tires, and then lockers.

Rock sliders, Offroad bumpers with recovery points, Winch with recovery gear, Tires, and Rear locker.
You will be able to go places you would never expect.

Mudder [08:28 PM]:   not try to be a jerk, but are you serious bestgen?

Start from the ground up:
Tires to see how far your drivetrain can take you if it could actually get traction.
Bumpers and sliders to protect your yota in all these new places.
Winch to get past those pesky spots where your armor is doing it's job.
Rear locker so you can be lazy and not have to get out and lock you hubs when you wanna go on a mild adventure

2008 4runner V6: Manual transfer case swapped, 4.88s, rear ARB, custom fabricated bumpers, sliders and more!

Projects waiting in my shop: '83 Front Axle, TG Sliders, second tcase, XD 4.70 gears!
