I wouldn't bet on the Domestic Chinese stuff being made any better than what they export. The old adage "You play like you practice" pretty much applies to everything in life, and the '08 earthquake in China pretty much showed their domestic building capabilities. Also given the quality of domestic military goods in the old Soviet Union, the Eastern Block nations, Cuba, Venezuela, and N. Korea, it is unlikely that China would be the first Communist state to build quality domestic/military goods.
