Our trade deficit w/ China

This is just scary... I realize we live in a "global economy" but this is a little one sided huh?
At what point do we quit shopping at mass importers like Walmart and start supporting pro-American businesses? Cheap is great.... but it does you no good when you have no job to buy these cheap goods.

I suppose you can argue that Walmart is the country's largest employer (non-government) and they save the average American money, but again at what cost??

We are certainly not gaining ground on China, We're becoming increasingly dependent on them instead.

Again, at what cost. China is a communist country, they do not have our best interests at hand..

I'm on my china rant.. I just got done reading Bigmikes  Made in china post from 2 years ago

Get rid of 90% of the regulation on everything in production, lower the corporate tax rate then kick the unions out of the US and watch us take over the world...

On a side note while shopping at wal-mart tonight I noticed all of their US flags were made in the good old USA.  Who'd have thought? :gap:

As long as China doesn't have environmental costs, unemployment costs and other regulations to follow it won't matter how cheap the american worker will work for they won't be able to compete.  The only thing that will change that is requiring all companies that export goods to the US must comply with the same regulations as a US company......or dropping all the rules in america.  Neither of which will happen any time soon.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
