WOW That is awesome!! Thanks for posting

So beings that you are a former Jeep owner, I have to ask why are you interested in Toyota's? I can't speak for everyone but I've been out wheeling since the fall of 1983 and have wheeled with many, many different rigs from all makes and sizes. I love wheeling with no matter what other vehicle is out on the trail and I've learned a lot from other vehicles and really enjoy chatting with their owners. Ultimately, if Toyota USA doesn't drop it's ball sack, I think we are all gonna have to build a Jeep someday just to get out and wheel (short of importing, will 80s and 90s Toyota trucks still be around 30 years from now? :shudder:).

I see your family has grown so you're looking at a 60 or 80-series LC. How about a 4-door Wrangler or even a Cherokee? Of course you know my preferences but I'm just curious. I know Jeeps are much more expensive to build, but I'm interested to know if perhaps you had an uncle who owned a Land Cruiser who let you mob around in it? :driving: :burnout:

As for FJ60s, check out what freds40 did to his: FJ-60 Build-Up. If I built a FJ60 I would definitely take a lot from his build :yesnod:

FJ60 with Dual Marlin Crawler Transfer Case setup. I don't know all his specs, but his Crawl Ratio should be around 180-210:1

Sorry for the late response, I was in Guangzhou at the US Embassy for a few days dealing with visa's.

Well, I have to say I've owned the top of the line Jeep and I loved it.

My biggest complaint was it was too nice to wheel hard. I would always worry about smashing it when we did a hard trail.
I smashed it a few times and it really bothered me being such a nice and expensive Jeep.
I don't want to have to worry about it. Toyota's are cheaper to fix and with some mods they wheel better than a Jeep.

I've got a wife and 9 year old son, and two dogs. So a FJ 60 or 80 is perfect for us. There is no way I can fit everyone in a Jeep and go camping or something.

4 door jeeps are okay, but you need at least 37's and a lift for the proper ground clearance. And there just too new, computer this and computer that. I want nuts and bolts.
I had a Toyota truck in High School and they are very reliable.

Thanks Mike,

The motor and trans seem pretty solid, Just needs shocks, tires and an alignment.
I have already ordered 4 new OME shocks, new caster bushings, and 5 New BFG KM2's.
I decided to go with 33's since I'm not going to be doing much rock crawling in this thing, probably more camping and fishing etc...

My wife and sons immigration interview is next week. Wish us luck!
Can't wait to get out of China, I've had enough all ready. :gap:

Best of luck with your families immigration. I'm sure it will go well. But I can understand your reason for being stressed out about it. Looks like a nice clean cruiser. It should serve you perfectly for camping.
