You said TA's, so I am guessing this is a rig that is going to see a lot more highway than trail?
IME the BFG AT's are about the best tire for an all around use, 70-80k mile wear(providing you rotate/balance them often). The BFG is a bit pricey for your wife's liking, you might look at the Procomp AT. My sister got pretty god mileage out of hers before selling her Runner.
