Last I heard bitog wasn't even running a filter because he decided that better flow was more important than higher filtration.

In my opinion, running a larger oil filter gives greater filter area inside the filter that's exposed to oil, and in turn gives the benefits of higher filtration rates with the added benefit of a higher flow rate. It's a win/win situation.

I don't think the extra capacity is that big of a deal if you change your oil regularly, which I do.

I run a walmart brand Supertech ST16 filter on mine which is the same size as a fram ph16. However, the ST filters are made by champion and are actually of pretty high quality. And cheap enough to not feel guilty about my 3k mile oci's.
