yes you will need the metal lines, because they have the flanges for the rubber lines.  they screw together JUST like a really big break hose.
When I did mine the hoses were SHOT, so I but the flanges off and went to checker and got EFI rated fuel line, and some hose clamps and never looked back. (BTW napa will charge you 2 legs for the EFI line, go to checker its MUCH cheaper!)

There are differences in the AC vs No AC harness, However its only a switch.  However you will have to add heater core deal under the dash, and plumb it to get the AC to work.  That pretty much means that you will need the dash out of your Buddy's truck too...

Yes you need the 22re cable.  $60 at the yota yard, $80 at the dealer (F***ING YOTA YARD!)  other junk yards will have it cheaper.

Yes you will have to modify your floor boards for the top shift t-case.
