Can't answer your question directly, but I think the tranny you're talking about is the ax-15? Something about that tranny is similar to our Toyota R151, but I can't recall what. It seems like it wouldn't quite bolt up. If that were the case, your Jeep transfer case and my Yota case would be very similar in some respects... and well, that's just wierd.
Take a picture of your transmission/transfer case. Let's see what she looks like.
