ok, just for total laughs try next time it acts up insted of waitting for 10 or what ever mins. try spraying starting fliud on the base of the dist. (the metal not the cap) this will cool the dist. do it untill the dist feels cool. get back in and see if you don't have to wait this time. if that helps then you more than likey need a new mod for the dist.

P.S. do not do this with the truck running and do stay away from the hot exhaust manifold
