I tell people to investigate whatever diagnosis the Doc gives them before accepting whatever treatment is prescribed. A little knowledge goes a long way.

Trust but verify.. and then get another opinion, and verify that!
If you are curious about how many medical professionals have actions against them, Google your local Medical Board of Examiners, and search on your doctor(s) to see if there are any actions against them.
The number doctors and medical professionals with actions against them is a shockingly long list.
