There is a guy from my club that was able to make his own onboard welder with parts that he ordered from NAPA. He welds stuff all the time with it on the trail and it seems to work good at a fraction of the price. I don't know any more specifics other than he went to NAPA and looked through some of the more specialized catalogs until he found what he was looking for. He had to piece it together with a few different part numbers but I don't think it was too hard to find. I think he got the part numbers and information on how to do it off a bulletin board, maybe pirate.
