they are 2" per side. So 4" total on axle.

They probably wont allow my dodge in California Dave lol. But I will hopefully be able to make a trip out there in the next few years. Dan and I have a half way plan to one day.

when you guys come. i have house and tools, if needed for you guys...

I went to San Diego when I was 16 with my mom on a business trip and there were hardly any vehicles that werent completely stock. I figured it would be frowned upon to show up in an old smoky 12 valve.

This thing is quite beaten up but still looks awesome. If you drove this on the road in Australia I would allow approximately three minutes before the police pulled you over and didn't let you drive it home.

For that reason and many others, I love what you've done with this 👍

What is the reason for the Ford springs? Is this just an alternative way to lift it rather than getting lifted Toyota springs?

Unfortunately it has had a hard life the last few years. The wreck messed it up pretty bad. I have a perfect bed, 2 tailgates, new fenders, good doors, good hood to paint and replace these parts. I figure I'll save them until I build something else to wheel and this becomes a normal street truck again.

Ever since the sas the rear springs have needed replacement. I haul a lot of stuff around. They were just too soft. I added some leaves but it wasnt much of an improvement. After years of research and head scratching I decided on the 4 leaf f150 springs. They aren't as long as chevrolet 62s. I had them in the past and personally did not like how they hung up on everything. I didnt want the shorter chevrolet springs either. I have a few k10 and c10 trucks and know how they work. I wanted a soft ride but also load capacity. The fords should do just that. I added 2 leaves to each of them and they sit about 3/4" higher than the front. I can make shackles to fix that. I didnt do a lift spring because of the price, and would rather recycle old junk than buy a new set of springs.

I think its funny that you mention how much the 63" chevy springs hang up on things, but the pictures you just posted of the new ride height looks like the rear bumper will get hung up on things way more than the springs would. lol

It definitely will. But this being more of a street truck than a rig the normal bumper has to stay for now. Cant drag a boat with a bumper way up under the tailgate.

Yeah, you definitely need the bumper to drag your boat around.

Just dropped off the rear drive shaft to be shortened. Also got new brake lines ordered from sstubes today.

Ended up finding one in my pile that would work. Have to finish up some other projects before I can get back on this. But for now it rolls.

Did some measuring and comes to be that I only need 3.5" of slip in the front driveshaft. At full stuff passenger side its 36.25". At full droop with front wheels off of the ground its 39.75". At full stuff on driver side and droop on passenger its 38.625". At ride height is 37.5".

I went from your 1st page to the 12... This truck has changed a lot.

Yeah, one day it may return back to 33s and low. But for now I'll play with the 40s
