Excess Hub Heat - Post Axle Rebuild
« on: Aug 23, 2014, 06:16:36 PM »
Finished the axle rebuild  :D

The only thing that I am noticing that is off is a lot of excess hub heat (not warm, hot).

The best thing I can come up with is my brakes are sticking/engaged slightly while driving.

Tomorrow I'm gonna jack the truck back up and spin the tires.  I'm guessing if they are rubbing it'll be obvious.  If that's what is happening what should I do?  Open the MC and pump the brakes, then rebleed the system?

TIA (Thanks in Advance) for any input.

If I don't ask the stupid question, who will?

if the hub is hot its usually the wheel bearings, too tight is always the case ive seen but it could be the brakes dragging too, turn the truck on and have someone depress the brakes and see if the calipers are working correctly. goodluck!
