front axle question

i filled my front axle with gear oil and its leaking out around the back by the round ball looking things  can i just replace the gaskets or do i need to replace everything

is it leaking gear oil or just grease?

those are the knuckle balls, and you will need to replace the inner axle seals inside them if gear oil is being puked into them and contaminating the grease in the knuckle.

if its just grease u can get away with replacing the outer felts and wiper seals but probably gonna want to replace the inner seals if they never have been replaced.

i took the plug off the top stuck a long screwdriver down in there and only had grease no oil. it aint

so is it leaking gear oil out? or is it just grease covering the knuckle balls?

if its gear oil then the seals are bad either way and only way to see that is to pull the knuckle off and birfield out

no its oil. going have to take it apart. i found a rebuild kit   thank you
