R150 differences
« on: Mar 22, 2005, 08:42:08 AM »
are the output shafts the same on the 88-95.5 and the 95.5 and newer?  also could i swap the rear tail housing from the 88-95 R150 onto the 95.5 and newer?

i want to run the a gear driven 4.7 case with either transmissions and only buy the 30-4GT V6 Adapter Plate.
is this possible?

right now i am running a R154 with the output shaft and rear tailhousing from a 88-95 R150 and have a chain driven case but i want to swap to the 4.7 gear driven case.  down the road id like to swap in the newer r150 for the better gearing

hope that makes sense

I am working on inserting a 5VZ-FE 1995+ 3.4litre onto a 1985 frame. My first discovery was the Bell housing, thus the output shaft was 1 inch and a smige longer than the pre 95 3,0 litre 3VZ-FE. I solved this problem by mating the first inch (I have the exact measurement but it's easy to figure out) from the deeper 3.4litre Bell housing to the complete 3.0 litre bell. I bored out the alignement dowels and inserted longer ones through both pieces for exact alignement. Presto, and now my clutch slave resides on the passenger side where it needs to be. Hope this helps  :beerchug:
