ya i finally did it, 3rd gear went out today in my truck, after about 4 months of the Chev 350 in front of it, my tranny in now dieing,   and it couldn't be at a better time, im poor right now!!  so if u guys need any small block conversion parts  please let me know, i have all u need, centerfoce clutch, AD bellhouseing, land cruiser slave Cly, i got the whole kit, I'm gona sell it and put in a t-18 4speed with a 205 transfercase  or a top loader ford,  if u guys know where i can get one of these  please let me know,

That sucks, got more work now but that's cool :gap:

Out of curiosity, what transmission were you using? Why not just go with a Toyota Turbo trans and stay Toyota :_order:

to tell u the truth im not sure wut year they had in the 85 toys but thats wut it was,  and i thik im gona do the t-18 or top loader bc they are much stronger, u cant rly dump the clutch at 8 grans with a toy tranny can ya?

dang boy, you are using a 4cyl non-turbo trans with a V8... *frowned*

At least I hope your 85 was originally a fuel injected version.

No, the R-series trans are not as strong as a proper V8 trans, but its the strongest 4WD transmission Toyota has ever made (massproduction based / also have no clue about the 6spd) and it's at least 5 times stronger then the W56 and 8 times stronger then the G54, two possible transmissions in your truck now.

The cool things about the R-trans is #1 its Toyota, #2 a Crawler and gear drive t/case bolt 100% directly on, #3 its much lighter then an American trans....

Also can get 'em with a 5.15:1 first gear.

But if I was going to drop the clutch behind a V8 at 8000 rpm it would not be in a Toyota hilux pickup :ack:
