engine knock?

Have a 2002 4WD 5SPD Tacoma 2.7. Yesterday a noticed a faint, high-pitched pinging sound, I think from the engine, when my foot was on the gas. Engine oil fine. Bad gas? Another probelm? I have 45,000 miles on the truck. It had its 30k mile tune-uo.
