Well figured I'd start a build thread for my newest project. WARNING!!!! This is going to be a slow build. Probably won't really dive into it until next winter. But I am going to start gathering parts and banging out a lot of small stuff until strip down my other truck for the big parts. I picked up this 86 from a guy on pirate who was building it out then ran out of time and energy. The lower frame is 1/4 inch, the rest is 3/16 box. All the tube is TIG welded .120 DOM and the sliders are .188. Other than some surface rust from being stored outside it is an extremely clean and well built chassis.

Plans:
3 link front with panhard
4 link rear
16 inch coilovers, 6 inches of up travel, 10 droop
supercharged 22re on propane
my old drivetrain
TG axles front and rear
full hydro
suspension seats
37s
I would like to keep the belly around 24 inches
It will have all its glass and heater for snow wheeling

Nice looking chassis! This things gonna be wicked.

Couple questions. Why 3 link with full hydro? Might as well just run 4 link if your not worried about running a draglink, tie rod and steering box. Just curious. Also what super charger is that? Got any specifics on it?

Also glad to hear your running glass and a heater for those late season fordyce trips.

After last year I thought I was gonna die. BIG aftermarket heater.

Thinking of running 3 link with a panhard just because of clearance issues. I want to put the motor low and far back so Im worried about the exhaust clearing a upper driverside link. But once I get my old motor mocked in I will be able to tell a little better.

It's a Camden from LCE. I'll prob run the 5 psi pulley I have, but gotta have it gone through first.

So what's to come of your 1st gen? Seems like it was pretty dialed.

I am going to wheel my first gen through the summer then harvest motor, axles, tranny, and cases. Probably try to part out the rest. See if I can sell the cab and frame. Most of what I have been buying for it has been with this build in mind or stuff I new I could sell quick. Like leafs, shocks, etc.

Well, it's always nice having the ability to swap crawlers around. Sealed with heat is nice, too.

Locktite navel jelly and a pressure washer. It just needs a light scrub with steel wool.

Hahaha I know. The quality of workmanship is going down hill fast since I acquired this project.

A pillars tied to the cage. Hopefully it will save me a windshield or at least cut down on cab vibration.

This looks good man. Curious to see how the A-pillars hold up in a roll. I racked my A-pillar pretty hard on a rock and it held up good with this setup. Winshield survived.
