Hey guys, I'm wanting to move on with a new build and dont have any money to start collecting parts for it, so i need to sell this one!
Ive got a build thread that most of you have seen, so check it out for lots of info. This is the very beginning of the build, skip a few pages ahead to get into good stuff.
http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=54076.270Rig is located in Black Hawk South Dakota, If you are serious Call Caleb at 605-716-4393. No text messages, this is a home phone, leave a message and I will get back to you.
87 4runner Deluxe model. Always kept in the garage, no rust except one tiny patch on the driver side A-pillar where the door seals shut.
Interior is basically complete up front and all works. Power windows/locks. Has the Altimeter/Tipometer gauge cluster on the dash. Has a triple gauge pod on the A-pillar with boost gauge and air/fuel mix gauge. CD player with aux and usb input. Doors are complete but passenger window is not working. Regulator motor went bad or something. Im not sure, I havnt had the doors on it in two years! Everything behind the front seats is pretty much gone now. It does have interior panels in the back with speakers. Back seat is out of a dodge caravan. the sheetmetal has been all completed and tubbed in around the back seat area. Truck just needs a soft top made to fit the rear cage section and it would be pretty waterproof. Heater also still works great.
Drivetrain:
Engine- 7mgte (straight six turbo) out of an 87 supra. About 260hp, Basically stock engine. Has 3" turbo back exhaust with resonator (actually fairly quiet) and also has Greddy blow off valve and custom intake piping. Approxiamately 90,000 miles. new timing belt about 4 years ago. i also just had the whole front of the engine apart and replaced cam seals, oil pump seal, front main seal and valve cover gaskets. Engine runs great, always starts, doesnt leak. The only thing I have noticed is that it has begun to burn some oil when I am on steep inclines while wheeling. Not sure what causes that.
Trans: r151f from 87 turbo pickup, 23 spline output shaft and 4.3:1 first gear. six puck ceramic clutch
T-cases: dual 23 spline cases. first case has 2:28 gears, second case has Marlin Chro-Mo 4.7 gears
Front driveshaft is 12" slip trail gear with 1/4" wall tube. Rear driveshaft is CV style with 1/4" wall tube
Axles: Both front and rear are out of an 80 series LandCruiser (non-elocker). High pinion 8" third in front, 9.5" third in the rear
Front: has cryoed yukon 5:29 gears with spartan locker and Longfield inner and out shafts, disk brakes, drive flanges. Full hydro steering using 2x8 single ended ram, Trail Gear TC style 1650 psi pump, forklift steering valve, custom built oversized fluid reservoir, fluid cooler mounted on radiator. Steering arms are custom built doble sheer pieces built by me. They have proven to be very strong so far with no issues holding up to the full hydro. I also built a skid plate that runs the length of the front housing and protects the ram and tie rod, it includes diff armor too.
Rear: has cryoed superior 5:29 gears with powertrax locker. Stock full float shafts, disk brakes
Suspension:
Front is 3 link with panhard and fox 14" travel 2.0 air shocks. lower links are beef, 1 3/4", 1/2' wall DOM drilled and threaded for 1 1/4" rebuildable Jimmy Joints. upper link and panhard are 1 5/8" tube with weld in bungs using 3/4" x 3/4" Heims.
Rear is dual triangulated 4 link built with all the same stuff as the front.
Rear sway bar is off of a jeep grand cherokee, there is also a 2000 lb suck down winch in the rear.
Tires/Wheels: full set of five 40x13.50x17 old style MTR's on pro-comp steel 17x9's, Running at 5-7 psi for two years so far and I have never blown a bead. Tires have at least 75% tread. A couple are chunked up a bit but they all hold air fine and have lots of life left. Only one tire has had a hole punctured through it. It was about an inch and a half long gash in the sidewall. It has been repaired and holds air fine, I now use that one for the spare.
Extras: 12 gallon plastic fuel cell in back. Warn 8000lb winch on removeable reciever plate. Partial exo/interior cage. interior cage tubes are setup to run shoulder harness belts if you want to put them in. Front bumper with reciever, rear bumper with reciever. Swing up spare tire carrier in back. Exide dry cell battery with an on-board 110 volt charger for when the truck is in storage for a long time. I also built a large skid plate underneath the covers the cases and has no sharp or clunky areas to get hung up on stuff. Belly height is 21 1/2" Frame height is 23 1/2 and the top of the truck is about 6'.
Also i'm looking for parts to start my next project. I will consider some things on trade plus cash. Parts i'm looking for are 3rz engine, a340f auto transmission, gear drive case with 23 spline 4.7 gears, adaptor to go from a340f to gear drive case, complete solid front axles from mini truck or complete solid front, and rear axles from 80 series landcruiser, full hydro steering kits or parts, air shocks, basically lots of buggy parts. Let me know what youve got and we can maybe work something out!
I think thats about it. All in all it can handle just about anything. Lately I have wheeled some crazy hard trails with it without any failures. It crawls excellent and goes fast too! The turbo engine is a ton of fun on the back roads. The rig drives pretty good up to about 50mph and then the front driveshaft vibrates and wobbles quite a bit because of the drive flanges. if it had lock out hubs on the front it wouldnt have that problem. Any other questions just ask me, I check the forum every day. Also if you are serious about buying it call me (Caleb) at 605-716-4393. Leave a message, its a home phone and I dont have a cell. Asking price is 9850.oo I dont NEED to sell this rig so dont make me a redicoulous offer.
I'm having issues with photobucket again right now so check out my build thread for pics. See most recent pics here
