That's a great quote. Today, we live in cities...stacked one upon the other like cord wood. The sound of creation is healing.

I am not a religious person, at least not in the conventional sense. The older I get, the more I appreciate nature in all its beauty and complexity. I frequently feel as though the outdoors is my church. It's where I feel relaxed and invigorated at the same time. No amount of money could make me want to live in a city.

I watched a movie a long time ago...(speaking of religion) Abraham. Richard Harris played Abraham...at one point he tells Lot, not to go to the city...nothing good happens there. In a sense that's true. Cities are a place to go, get a slice of pizza and heat a basty retreat. Cities steal my soul, I can't breathe. They live in a building with 100 people living on top of them but they're alone. These people leave the country, then spend millions to bring the country to them. Even Tucson is too big for me.

^ Agree on every point. Looks like Tucson has more than half a million souls, more than five times as many as Redding, my nearest city -- and it's way too big for me. Gotta go every so often though, and I can't get out of there soon enough.
