Built but still Building 85 4Runner

Ok so i bought this 4runner in 2000 and i have been building it ever since. It was a very clean 85 4runner with22re and auto tranny. The only pic i can find is after i put 33x9.50x15 on it. I will post pics of what i have done to it and what i am still doing to it. I wish i had started postin back when i first started.

I no longer have the 33s, I havent had them since about 2004. They were Wild Country MTs.

These are from after I rolled it on the driver side and then I put a 4" lift and 36x13.50x15 Iroks on it.

And I had put the Hanneman Fiberglass fenders on it....I dont recommend fiberglass unless you have protection around them. I broke them several times before going back to steel fenders.

I had a guy ask me to trade my 36" Iroks for his 41x14.50x16 Iroks. Mine were 30% tread left and his were like brand new. I couldn't turn that offer down. So I did some fender trimming and a 3" body lift to make them fit. I dont like body lifts but it works. And I painted it black...didn't like the tan color

Rampart Range road...trimmed the fenders just enough. I put a 7mge in with a w56 tranny...no more automatic.

The black looks great but that two tone paint was cool too. I'm partial to the 80s Toyota paint and that was rad.

Nice score on those tires. You could sell them, get some 35 or 37s and have money left for other projects!

This is what happens when you run 41s with the stock push pull steering...the next day I ordered up Marlin's Ifs gearbox mount and pitman arm. I already had the cross over steering arms and tie rods from a friend of mine. I just wanted to see how long it would last...haha.

Sorry it broke, glad it didn't break during a high speed on road corner, but it's funny to see it broken with the tire in the photo like that

I don't think Toyota had 41" tires is mind when they developed that arm in 1978

Independence Trail, Penrose,CO. with crossover steering. The second pic is where I blew out my high pressure power steering hose...its tough turning 41s with out powersteering. I also had TRD e-lockers front and rear with 5.29s, Longfield 30splines, and dual t-cases at this time.

that is an awesome looking 4runner.i miss my hanneman front fenders.i destroyed one when i lost an argument with a tree.its just fiberglass.took me a day to rebuild.if it was a metal fender,it would have been in the garbage.i do autobody collision/restoration for a living but still,fiberglass is pretty easy to work with.definatly worth it for the styling.

I replaced the rear drum brakes with FROR full floater kit. 85 4Runner backing plate, spindle, and hub, Landcruiser slotted rotors, IFS 4Runner calipers, Akebono ceramic pads.

I replaced the front landcruiser rotors and ifs calipers, as well as upgraded the steer arms and trunnion bearings. I installed 6shooter knuckles, and steer arms with a trunnion bearing eliminator kit, FROR Tacoma brake adapter, IFS hubs, Tundra drilled and slotted rotors, Tundra calipers, Akebono ceramic brake pads, Longfield hub gears.
