Yotaboy79 is your EFI and if it is did you have trouble installing the O2 sensor?  I also have a shorty headmen which I installed two weeks ago.  I keep getting the check engine light coming on when I am driving on the highway.  I think the coating from the factory killed my O2. any toughts?

I got the Doug Thorley from Summit for 189.50 including the shipping to Oklahoma. Got a good power boost out of it . Good bang for the buck

the hedman is only made for vehicles up to 1988 on summit will it still fit on my 1991 22r or else ill just get the hooker?
has anyone ever ran the hooker? if the hedman is compatiable do you hve to modify the exhaust much?

I don't like the look of the reducer on the Heddman header.  It looks way to short.  It's probably not that critical, but a good collector should be a bit longer with a more gradual taper.  TRD makes a nice header, I see 'em on Ebay every now and then.  LC Engineering makes a nice one too, nice long pipes, equal length primaries, kinda pricey though.  I'd imagine any header would give you a decent "seat of your pants" power upgrade, even if it isn't perfectly engineered.

bigbad,  you need a lcengineering on that efi, or a thorley, gotto have the O2 sensor

and you need the longer runners and 2 1/4 inch pipe, glasspack is good

for yours i would get a stainless head flange from lceng for abour $40 and have a shop bend some tube equal length 1 1/2 inch diam for some custom headers,  cheaper and the long runners give you better torque, those hedman and hooker shortys are realer best on a celica

:rockingout: northwest offroad makes a really good header, I will never buy anything from lc engineering again if I can keep from it
they shafted me on a set of high compression pistons, what is sad is that when I bought them I spent an additional 1500 on a bunch of other stuff. Apperently they don't care if they sell you :pokinit:

If I were you I would try downey and nwor's websites I am from Oklahoma where we no longer have to worry about that stupid :pokinit:, so therefore I am not an authority on the subject. if you fail your smog test, find out what was not acceptable, and let me know becuase there is a way around everything, and every set of data can be manipulated

I have a Thorley on my 89 now that is carb certified and comes with a sticker.  It really is a nice tri-y header, I just wish it had thicker flanges.

I just went with thorley tri-y,  went through summit, Love that company. I have a nasty kink in my exhaust so my performance sucks right now, but im sure a 2 1/4 system will help much.
