1979 toyota 4x4 questions
« on: May 26, 2012, 12:10:21 PM »
so i just got a 79 yota a few days ago.

the heater seems to work only on the defrost and lower vents but the dash vents and the one right below the radio is blowing cold air.
how do i fix this? i live up at 5500 ft so heater is important for me.

is there a good write up on swapping manual to power steering?

Yes search about power steering, and those are the only places heat comes out on thes trucks, the side vents are fresh air

Turn the Ball (vent ) side ways....... Get under the dash and plug the holes too.

Also, if you've got it on the defrost setting, only minimal air is coming through those center vents. Where I live it gets down to double-digits below zero, regularly, and my 83 is fine in the winter with no modifications to the vents.

But yeah, keep the side ball vents closed, and block off the center vents if you want.

Mine works for me, though.
