Thinking of hooking my base station back up
« on: Apr 01, 2012, 07:53:44 AM »
I have a uniden  Washington which i have not used in yrs. I had a Antron99 with ground planekit   in a tree about 57ft up  used a man-lift and chopped off the top of the tree :shh:.
Where i live now most of the trees are 70Ft   and the yard has alot  i can't ( not alowed) to use a pole off the house. Gone have to use another tree and just get it high as i can.

Now i need some advice  do to the environment I know im gonna have a high SRW  and i need help choosing a antenna i was thinking. Or if anyone has  better choices

Solarcon - IMAX-2000 - 24' Omni-Directional Fiberglass Base Station
Maco V 5/8 Ground Plane antenna
Antron99  ground plane.

I was Also thinking of moding the radio its self  I read you can add up to 18oish Chanels. I also saw a power mod which involved soldering on the board wich i can do but can't find how much power it will put out not looking for a power monster just a little bump. I already have a noise toy.  Also need a good mic The echo crapper  needs to go. any recomedations ?

the big pine behind the shed is most likely  where it will live  CB will be located in the shed

That Uniden looks like an old President radio I have. I have 2, actually.  A Base radio with a chrome D-104 Lollipop mic and  a mobile radio in my X-tra cab.

That sucks that you can't put up your antenna.
