Have you check the output flange? some times the nut comes loose.
Its the muffler bearing actually.
throwout bearing...like the one in the bell housing? that one would only sound bad if the clutch is pushed in though.
sounds like the main shaft bearing in your transmission. 4th gear is a direct drive so it does not transfer a load through the secondary shaft.
It does howl when i push in the clutch, only when im moving, and the faster im going the worse it is. But it also makes pretty much the same noise when im pulling up a hill in 4th at low rpms.What i drive is an 87' runner with a 22re and a 5spd. trail gear sas, 5" trail gear lift, tg hi steer, spool in rear, trussed yota axles
