Thought I'd let everyone know that Top Gear on History is testing the durability of 3 trucks in Death Valley area, they had to find  them under $5,000.00. From the preview they only picked American made trucks, a fullsize Bronco, a fullsize Blazer and a Jeep Renegade CJ-7. What the hell for $5,000.00 I could have had a built Toyota that was unstopable. Oh well the show is on Sunday night enjoy.

That thing was a piece...it was falling apart while he was racing it and locked up in a puddle haha.

Guess they havn't gotten the memo yet about how Toyota is more American now than...I think it was Ford?

Ah well...least it should be somewhat entertaining.

Rocksurfer

From the commercials I have seen it looked like it may be at least entertaining and a good laugh. At one point the Bronco was on its side sliding at around 35mph. I work but set it on my DVR.

scoutrunner

yea it was pretty lame, he was so suprised at how well his jeep did, what a joke.. air down low gear that bronco would have just went right up that small rock, heck my 4runner stock goes over worse. it was entertaining but thats it!!!

Shamb

there where a few parts that made me laugh... mainly because of their stupidity.

Rocksurfer

It was entertaining for sure and in picking a trailer I sure would have been looking at tire size in my choice but hey they are all offroad rookies and didn't even know what they were getting into. When they said they were starting from Ballarat I knew which way they had to go to get into Death Valley and that one spot they had the issues on is the only spot to worry about at all. In saying that I did that trail in my H3 and didn't have any problem. Other than that one obstacle it is basically a minning road. I'm surprised they didn't show the remains of Baker Ranch, which is the place they found Charlie Manson hiding.

Sadly Barker house burned down a few years ago, and the other Ranch many years before that also burned, but I have been there many times before they were destroyed. They found him hiding under a sink in the kitchen. I think I may have pics of the place somewhere, I'll see what I can find. They still think that he buried some of his followers up there that tried to leave but nobody can find them.
