Chevy spring swap Lift Question? NEED HELP
« on: Jul 24, 2011, 09:21:13 AM »
So Ive read the thread on the Chevy springs but i still have a question that wasn't answered.
I'm planing to do the spring swap shortly but this is my problem.
I will be doing the swap on my 93 pickup ifs. with four inch ifs lift in the front and four inch blocks in the back. so when i do the spring swap (they say that it gives you between 2-3 inches of lift) So how do i get my other one to two inches of lift i need? can i just buy longer shackles if this is an option? or do i have to find some one to two inch lift blocks for the rear?
any help would be great
thanks in advance

Run longer shackles, you will need some kind of new shackle setup any way. Don't do blocks!

When I did my swap I used a Chevy lowering shackle because its longer. That should give you about the amount you need.

I used the stock chevy shackle bolted to the stock toyota hanger then welded up to the frame. From there I used a 5.5 inch schackle down to the spring (so technically its not a dual shackle since they both dont move but I used two shackles to locate the point of rotation). Worked out great. I think I have between 3-4 inches of lift, its just a little lower than my ruf's which is how I like it to get a little weight transfer to the rear where there is none.

Sweet man thanks for the info.
What did you use for the front hanger?
