Never seen downey "race" headers  :dunno:

Sorry, but it will sound like 2 cats fighting in a garbage can.  And I thought these were only like $20 new  :headscratch:

I used to run the shorty cherry Bombs on my turbo, wasn't bad sounding at all not too loud either unless I took the cat off.

maybe it isn't cherry bomb, but you can get a glasspack in a bin at the local o'rielys for $30... cheaper if it is on sale

Loud doesn't equate to fast.

its like when you press the horn (if you still have the stock horn) it just doesn't match the truck once you start slapping on bigger tires

Well put   I like a nice tone and some volume to my trucks and bikes, but I don't for the life of me see the point in purposely making it obnoxiously loud.  It's the same as the moronic sportbikers who sit at stop signs or lights revving their bikes, making us all look like tools.

Besides, loud doesn't necessarily set off alarms.  My old exhaust had a very deep, low tone around idle and would often set off alarms while idling through parking lots.

To each his own, but you seem like an attention sleeper  :dunno:

i don't prefer attention, attention prefers me and i have a custom box that holds the 2 12s and the 2 8s then i have one set of 6x9s in the door and the other in the stock place i don't have a horn because if i need the horn your driving like a grandma. And like i said this truck is a light to medium trail rig that's why i have the stereo and glass-packs. Even though i have the locker in the rear and the MC twin stick it will mainly be an everyday driver i worked hard to earn the money so i deserve the right to build my truck the way i want. Everybody has their own opinions and  :twocents: this is rice killer to those that like true volume and tone to your cars

I have a glasspack on a 85' 22re, with no catalic converter, just glassback and no muffler. It is really not that loud at all, and I think it sounds tons better, and seems fine

Race headers - this is still puzzling me.  I've known of Downey since the early 90s and have never seen them offer a separate street or race header  :headscratch:

I've purchased a few glasspacks from kragen's that were branded as cherry bomb, and I don't recall paying more than $24 for each  :dunno:
