20r #4 cylinder dead
« on: Jun 05, 2011, 08:29:17 PM »
my buddy has a 20r motor that the #4 cylinder isnt firing has 155 pounds of compression  good spark but when you pull the plug wire it doesnt drag down the motor at all like the rest of the cylinders do... Any thoughts?

Probably valve related.

If it was a valve problem I dont think he would have compression.

if you want to test a spark plug then pull it, hook it up and have someone turn it over. if the spark is blue then you are GOOD! the more orange it is then I'd recommend replacing it.
