Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

Haha well i am still in HS (barely)  but i think i'll keep it to putting on my chevys and some shackles. Would 10 in be too long?
10 inch shackles?? ya, too long

lifted_drifter

I just dont understand how people build there trucks with 4 in lifts and they can still run 37s but get enough downtravel.

I've got the chevys but its a matter of how long of shackles to make when i mount them.

I was gonna put rears up front then mix the 3in lift spring pack i have in the front with them

Hyena

depends on what angle they are at.  mine were 9 inch eye-eye i beleive and were at a very steep angle.  worked pretty good.

ten is just a little too long i think. it could be done but when you start to get really long shackles your whole rear axle and springs kinda want to move side to side alot more.  plus the longer your shackles are the easier they will bend!  i think mine are 8" center to center. i made them from 1/4" plate and welded in a square tube in the middle so they dont bend. they have worked out really well.  heres a pic

Thats fine :)

I was actually inquiring about the shackle length, but now i think about it, its just gonna depend on the springs anyways!

pumkin toy

oh sorry!  i have daystar shackles in the front.  i think they are 1.5" lift

Ok thanks!

My friend has a lser cut machine thingy.

You trace it on this paper then it cuts it.

Anyways Auto CAD and some cardboard + that machine should come out with some pretty pro shackles.

pumkin toy

yeah i would love to have a machine like that!  i saw them using one on extreme 4x4 last weekend.

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

not bad! Nice runner you've got there! how long are your rear shackles?
