I would keep looking for a motor with less then 250,000 miles on it.

22re should bolt right up to your 84 trans.....im sure all the efi stuff is the same as any other truck. i would find either a rebuilt or low mileage motor.

dude, you can easily put your carb on that engine and it will bolt right in you just have to swap flywheels so dont let yours go anywhere.

as far as getting it or not?  I'd be on it like white on rice.

motor homes..... yes yes i know those things.... most of em ran once a year for as hard as they can be run..... put away to maybe have the oil changed before next years run....  BUT with that many miles an engine in front of a auto usually lives a easy life... i wouldnt have a problem buying it....

And it has a full jacobs ignition, and the guy's been trying to sell it for way too much for over a year.  I've seen it on craigslist many times, and I'd like to know what the dude is smoking.  Buy it if you can get it cheap, otherwise I'd pass.

I saw the same motor home many times, motor LOOKS clean, but who knows how it was taken care of, 25k in 30 yrs is not very much driving, lots of sitting, which is not good on seals and such.

Go and physically look at the engine in person and bring a high powered flashlight. Look everywhere for leaks, corrosion at the coolant lines, open the valve cover and check for engine cleanliness and any weird smells...like coolant and oil (a very distinct disgusting smell like burning hair). Start it up and run it for a while. If no alarm bells go off, buy it with all of the EFI equipment for no more than $800 unless that 84' is EFI like mine. You know nothing until you look in person.
I've got the most liftedest truck in town, that little jap truck done stand no chance gainst my Chevy. My Chevy gots a V8 more lift an bigger tires, and an exhaust system, whats yer tuna can got, a V4, and them tires look like they is offa Saturn Corulla. The dealer instulled my lift, so ya no its done right, you just try to foller me throo them rocks an see what a reel truck can do.
