3.4    its TOYOTA  :dunno:    and it comes in many tacos and 4runners with factory supercharger  what else could you want,  the 3.4 could make a 4.3 wet the bed

chevys are sooooooooo overrated

I say the 3.4 b/c they both have similar HP and torque ratings but keeping it all toyota would be much simpler. Not to mention the 3.4 should be a good bit lighter.

Push rod motor with a counter ballance shaft or overhead cam with supercharger hmmm. Stay with a 3.4 and make your life easy.

If you can afford it.... 3.4. It costs more, but it's a great motor, and you really don't have to worry about mods, because both motors have lots more power than the 3.0. If the 3.4 is too pricey for you though, i'm very happy with how my 4.3 runs, and parts are a dime a dozen, because it's mostly chevy 350 parts.

SWAMPER

Thanks for all the input guys....Ill be looking into a 3.4 soon I want to get my truck up and running ASAP

That's more weight and power than you realy need. You wont have as much fun unless all you want to do is smoke your tire$ and waste ga$. The 3.4 will most likley cost as much as a 4.3 or 5.7, but you won't need to change the transmision or make as many modifacations to get it back on the road.

Just some common  :twocents:

if you have a manual, run the 4.3 with an adapter to your trans. I would think the cost of te motor even with the adapter would be cheaper than the 3.4.
