recovered stolen rigs

well i looked at my recovered runner. they towed it in on the 8th and did not send the required 24hr notices to me by mail now i have to fight them for the bill as of friday the 17th it was approx 1000.00 to get back.thats 300.00 towing and 45 per day.it looks as if i may have to pay it to get her back then i need wheels tires the top is gone dont know if it runs etc.merry eeffin christmas.

Uhh... ok? That sucks your rig got stolen but thats why you should have insurance.

At leased you got it back. Insurance should cover it, if not that really sucks

Only the police are required to send the notice, the tow company is only required to start the proccess of lien before the 10th day of storage so it could take 15 days to receive notification. Some companies will wait to pad the bill but there is really nothing you can do about it except to pay it. You are pretty much in a catch 22 situation since you are a forced customer. Like the others have stated at least they found it. FYI even if you don't want it, don't just let it go to auction they will bill you for the balance due and turn it over immediatly to collections the day after it is auctioned f'ing up your credit.
