hey guys-im getting a roll bar for my bed on my truck, and i was wondering if theres a way to close up the holes that are now on my roof from my antenna. i want to put it on the roll bar. i know i could cut it and weld it, but i cant weld, and i dont want to damage my roof liner. is there any other way to cover up the holes? thanks yall :beerchug:

when we decomission cop cars we just put basic rubber plugs in the holes for the roof lights... they are water tight but of course they stick up a little and could get abused by tree limbs or whatever...

Those are some huge welds!

what about taking a small piece of sheet metal and screwing it over the hole, maybe put some silicon on it before you screw it on :dunno: might be kinda redneck fab but probably would hold up better than a rubber plug.

4RunnerChevy

Get a knockout plug, like electricians use, put some sillycone around it.  Real redkneck  :gap:

locked 4x4

bondo, silicone, duck tape, expanding foam.  The options are endless.  Anything that will seal the hole up.  Maybe a ball of that quick steel smashed over it.  Hit it with a rattle can after and no one will notice it but you.  If your truck is to nice for a redneck fix, learn how to weld sheetmetal and do it right.

If you go with my idea you could probably even grind it down a little and then bondo it to blend it in until it is just a small tumor in your roof :gap: and if anyone sees it, well you should probably tell them to get off your roof or you should roll your truck back on it's wheels

just cover it with duck tape and forget about it lol.

SloCrawler

you could just get rubber plug, like whats used through a firewall

A can of bondo should come with the metal screen that has a double sided tape.  Lightly sand and clean the section around the hole, cut the screen to cover about 1/2" around the hole, apply a layer of body filler, sand repeat, paint it to match, shouldn't cost you more than about $20.

Another option, buy a can of spray on bedliner, tape the hole off from the backside, tape off an area around the hole, scuff the paint, and apply a few layers, should cost under $10.

:shakehead: it would be quick and easy but duct tape does not like to hold up in the rain and snow.

haha yea especially when you wake up in the morning and theres 3 feet of snow on top of your truck... no i dont think that would work haha
