Pinion Flange swap ??
« on: Nov 15, 2010, 09:18:16 PM »
Working on a stock 82 4x4, and the next upgrades are driveshafts and flanges. Got the TC flanges via Marlin's sale, now just need the pinion flanges.  My question is how much torque to reinstall the pinion nut...is it per the FSM, or do I need to figure out the current torque, and match that value at reinstall?  Or am I just overthinking this?  Thanks all!

I would say unless the new flange has a new spec vs. the FSM go with what the FSM says to get the correct pre load.
