Are the pinion flanges on the 82 and 87 rear axle the same?

bolt patterns are different but they are totally interchangable.  heck even the flanges on the transfercase will swap onto the diff.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

82 also has smaller bolts then the 87.
