Significant Other
« on: Dec 24, 2004, 09:55:38 PM »
So when, where, how did you meet your significant other?? How long ago?

(sorry, I'm bored) :smack:

I met my girlfriend about 2 years before we started dating, but we start going out the summer before our senior year.  (July 8, 2002) at a church camp.  Still going strong, halfway through our second year of college :date:

I'm just glad spotter has some common sense.  I have some bad habits that she helps curtail, such as setting stuff on fire, (including myself) blowing stuff up, and trying to do as much as possible w/o breaking my toys (snowboard, truck, myself)  And yet she still sticks around.

Started dating mrs.K in high school (82) broke up for a couple years then after I graduated (84) she pulled up in her RX-7 where we all parked and partied and said we were going out again. Lived together for years and got married in Las Vegas in 94. I'm lucky, she's cool with whatever I do and vice versa and we get along great.

Both of us were in the Navy onboard ship.  Each had our own lives and became friends.  Years later, those lives collapsed.  We lost touch over time, refound each other and are now happy together for the last ~5years.  She loves me - it makes my life good.

I married the chick who used to buy my beer for me in high school. I met her around 1985 and she was married.  She divorced in 1991, we hooked up, started *%@#!&^ then became an item. Now were married with three kids, we own our home and 5 vehicles. By no means rich, but living a good life.  :beerchug:

Mr. Willy (aka Mark) and I met at a Lamborghini dealership in Longwood, FL. Yes, really. He was working in the bodyshop doing body/paint work and custom fabrication  :flamer: (surprise suprise), and I was doing detailing.

We dated for a few months before two record hailstorms struck central Florida in March, 1992. Mark had a shop he had kept open on the side and with the inudation of body work in the area due to the storms decided this was an opportune time to reopen the shop fulltime. He quit the dealership, and I joined him about a week later. That was the day I became his partner in crime.

Mark taught me the finer points of body and paint prep work :whip: yada yada yada 6 years later we became Mr. and Mrs. Willy Mammoth, um, no, :smack: that's not right, we became Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lanthier, 12 years later we became Mr. and Mrs. Willy Mammoth thanks to all the great people on   the Marlin Crawler forum!

This first picture was taken in the back of the shop, the second is Mark before going to the dealershop, the third is the truck after re-opening the shop and the fourth is yours truly hard at work  :whip: as usual.

Met mine Freshman year of high school. Dated for a short period Sophmore year and I blew her off a week before my winter formal. Halfway stayed in contact for the next couple of years. Senior year of high school started to hang out again. For some unknown reason, she had a moment of compassion and we started dating again freshman year of college. Almost 4 years later we got married. Married now for over 2 years and have a beautiful 8 mo. old daughter. We keep each other in check pretty well, she is working hard to complete her Master's next May, until then the stress level will remain slightly elevated.  :shocking:

Don't worry Swampy, you will get there as well. :jail: While there is alot to be said for commited relationships enjoy singledom while you can.

I heard on our morning show (The John Boy and Billy Big Show):

The number one cause of depression amongst married people is being married.

The number one cause of depression amongst single people is being single.

 :smack:

So above all, whatever you do, make the most and ENJOY!!  :beerchug:

and btw...I don't know where you found that little fact about your friend rosy but sounds like you're doing a bit too much research on that subject!    :rofl2:

met mine thru some friends and we all ended up going out one night.  I saw her and knew right then I was doomed.  :disturbed:

4 years later she just fininshed college, I'm working full time and we're engaged to be married next August.  She's pretty good at  :whip:  but I just try to  :help:  and stay out of trouble.  So far, so good!  Now if only I can talk her into those new beadlock rims for the truck....
