Sparkplug

Got my steering all buttoned up, looks good to me, no issues with clearance at all. The box is all the way agianst body mount, and rotate just a hair up. Still gotta finish grinding frame, and paint everything, also need 2 more u bolts, and shocks. But she steers and drives now, wooot!!!!!

Poser shot, dont have tres yet, mine r shot, so cant go test it on rocks. But everything clears, at max stuff, by 1/8 inch. Im happy, Movin on to rear suspension tomorrow, decided on tried and true 63s. Think it will work perfect. Not me in pics, my bud. Opinions wanted.

I plan on 36 or 37 to start with, then who knows, cud go to 4DS. With a 37 I thinkin my tire will stick out past my front end.

Nice build. Your not worried about your pitman arm hanging up on your spring when shoved. Only reason I ask is it look like mine. And mine hits.

Sparkplug

yes, my pitman arm does slightly hit on driver side,w hen it fully stuffed. That why i said I need a 3/4 less drop, or possibly flat one. But it only hits after spring has gone negative, so I will only need to change it to flatter one, if I decide no to run bump stops, otherwise, with bump stops, no it wud not hit.

Got it almost all the way done. Gotta grind everything off frame, and paint, put on shock hoops, and shocks, and get a 3.4 drop pitman from sky. Otherwise, its done, and drives great down the road, even without shocks. Can let go of wheel at 60 mph, and it stays straight. For reference, it has a unmodded stock rear pack for front suspension, and chevy leaf springs out back with 2 leafs plus overload. I may have to add a leaf to the back to level it, but I hope my front is gonna sag to flat, in which case it will be even. Frame height is 19.5 inches to ground at frame behind shackle mount, on 31 inch tires, that actually measure 31. Opinions or kudos wanted, thanks again.

Made a custom pitman arm from a 2wd drop part, with 4x4 end that bolts to box shaft. Member here told me 2wd wud bolt on, not true. I made it work, and its normal length, and perfect drop, at full stuff it clears by 1/2 inch I happy

can you explain what you did?

Sparkplug

I had a 2wd pitman, and a normal ifs 4x4 pitman. I cut the section off of the 2wd  from the box shaft hole. I then cut off the box shaft hole off the 4x4 pitman, but left about an inch of the pitman arm on, to extend 2wd one to right length, I then beveled both edges, and did a pass on both sides in middle of bevel. Then did 2 passes each on top and bottom, and 1 hot pass on the side. Hit it with a flap disc, and this is wat I got. Ive been told that a 2wd pitman shud bolt on, but mine didnt, a pirate member said it depends on the truck, supossedly power steering ones have one that wud bolt right on, but it wudnt be correct length, u wud lose 8 percent of ur steering. If these details are not enough, lemme know, i can pm and walk u thru it

Shock mounts are bolts welded to axle tube, and the bar that runs across frame on top. Ive heard the cross brace can be a weak point, But my plan was to use lower grade bolts for my shock mounts, so they would fail, and rip from axle housing, before my cross brace would be torn. I dont think it will be a problem wither way, as long as you arent jumping your truck, and run bump stops, which I have now.

Almost done, just gotta finosh front hanger, plate front of frame, and do duals. Borrowed my buds 35 hogs to see wat it would look like. Looks sick IMO, and not gonna have to cut too much in front, adding a longer shackle in rear also. Wat u guys think? I know the pics suck, but hell trees block my driveway, action pics to come after 15th when i get my 36's.

ive seen this runner in person very clean sas job cant wait to get my pile going to go wheel, snow run sounds fun might go to lassen for xmas tree cutting u down?

Sparkplug

Yeh Im down, sounds like fun to me. Havent updated it in a while. I need to add a leaf to my rear pack, a longer shackle, and trim a lil bit. In the front, I need to finish puttin my hubs on and re adjusting the WB. Other than that, its all good, and I drove it today to town, and it rides nice. I gotta put my duals in sometime, but waitin on armor I think, before I put em in.
