83 Crawler

well got the duals i bought torn apart and ready to be put back togather once i buy the adpapter and 4.7s..

yotaneck13

you should really tear that kind of stuff apart on a bench or table top not just tear into it on the floor and scatter parts thats ho snap rings and spacers get lost and forgotten then reassembled with out and causes a lot more headache

I have seen a few people cut out the drain plugs or like you did shave it on the axles.. im guessing so you dont beat it up on the rocks but.. how do you drain the oil?

you can make youne of your diff studs a bolt and drain the oil that way much easier IMO than pulling axels and the 3rd everytime you wanna change gear lube

That's a good idea. Pulling the third evertime to change the oil is a lot of work for something that should take one bolt.

itll drain slow since the diff studs arent very big  and dif oil is thick but it works good and saves alot of time

its not like you have to change gear oil all the time? so im not to worryed about it, and my buddy still has his and it gets beat on so much he cant get a wrench on it to loosen it

yotaneck13

I'm big on maintenance .  so i change it religiously.  Just me i hate :pokinit: breaking that's all.
