Wasn't sure where to post this because it doesn't have to do with rock crawling and isn't vehicle specific...but anyway

I have diamond plate railings around the bed of my truck with a bunch of build up on them...I can scratch it off with my finger nail and it removes the layer and shows the shiny diamond plate. Does anyone have any suggestions on a chemical to use or make that will remove it. Besides powerwashing them...thanks

and I know  :stopit:

sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid

both work well I used them alot on wheels when i owned a detail shop. remember to dilute it first

This is my method as well.  Just remember, only use this on bare metal, if your diamond plate is painted or otherwise coated, it will likely remove the coating as well.

Acid cleaners also etch into the aluminum so if it has a polished finish it will ruin it.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
