Very simple poll, do you support Arizona's law or not. More than 690,000 votes so far, which is certainly enough to be statistically significant. The results are certainly not in line with what mainstream news media would have us believe.

Not quite.

734,210 yes votes
32,356 no votes

Nearly 96% in favor of it.... just over 4% opposed.

Politicians and 'reporters' do not give the American public enough credit for common sense.

If only there was at least one news show that didn't follow the far left leaning line mass media does.  Meh, but then if there were such a program, people would ridicule them and call them extremists and talk endless smack about them.  If only there were such a show...

815,243 votes with 95.8% in favor of the law.  Hmmm

Voted, still at 95.8 in favor. This is a liberal news organization, this may have backfired on them.  :attention:

I don't watch a lot of news shows, and don't try to analyze... but you may be describing Fox News. I watch them occasionally and have noticed they sometimes lean towards the right, and expose the errant ways of the left. And while some people do ridicule them (Fox) and call them extremists, some of that is well-deserved -- they sometimes lean too far right and end up looking silly. At least it's a break from the same-old, same-old on the other networks.

The stink over our BS immigration law only exists and continues to grow because of the BS media. I live in phx and I have not once heard anyone talk about this bill that was not related to "well this person said the law does this" or "channel 15 had a guy on whose whole family is getting sent back to mexico because of this." Its BS, the law does not even go into effect for 3 more weeks...

My local news did 15mins on the "overnite developments" surrounding this law this morning. Its a 30 minute news show, so all but 7 minutes were dedicated to this f'in law. I think we should make a law that deports these BS news writers/anchors who support the "throw another log on the fire" style of reporting when they have not read nor understood the law themselfs.

I gaurantee you with the media's choosey reporting, that this poll will never make airtime unless it has the outcome that msnbc wants...

Something like 2.3 million votes...95% support it. Soooo, President Kick-ass sues us to take attention away from everything else he's boogering up. What a candy-ass.

At least part of his argument is that immigration is a Federal (not State) issue. That may well be true.

However, the Feds are not adequately handling the situation, which leaves the states to deal with the problems.

4runner4x4: I appreciate your comments... it's always good to get varying points of view. No matter the topic, any internet board will have posts/comments that some will find offensive, sometimes justifiably so. I don't think many people have a problem with legal immigration (nearly everyone in the US is descended from immigrants) but most would agree that illegal immigration has become a significant problem -- however (as you stated), not in every case.

It's great that your family went to the effort to get documentation and become contributing members of American society. If everyone did that -- better still, enter the US legally in the first place -- we wouldn't have the immigration problems as they currently exist... and we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

jerry92toy, relax man, 4runner4x4 was just expression his take on this in a very friendly and non-confrontational manner. I respect what 4runner4x4 has to say and he brings insight and experience to the thread.

As for me, I am in 100% support of the law. I tried to vote but it looks like the poll has been deleted. My wife is from Japan and we got all the paper work done and she now has a great job working for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, paying her taxes, and enjoying the American life. It really wasn't that hard to do. The longest we had to wait was about 4 months for a letter in the mail, and it only cost about $300 or so as I remember. It wasn't bad at all and I don't understand why undocumented people don't just man up, do the paper work, and stop living life with that monkey on their back (fear of the law). I understand $300 is a lot of money, but the benefits of being able to enjoy life far outweigh that in my opinion.

I too am in favor of the law, I have heard from several illegal immigrants that is a very lengthy drawn out ordeal to become citizens unless youare married to a citizen or have what i think is called a sponsor or to be sponsored. As in if a family member is legal and wants to bring over another family member who is not they almost have to vouch for that individual.? Not sure but i heard if you cant get this then it is several years and very costly to get this done.Bigmike I wonder if being married helped your wifes chances or expedited the process at all? Either way i think their needs to be someway to get citizenship but dont agree with just giving citizenship to everyone that is already here.

Yeah, that must be it then.

In my opinion it is not fair that I work hard and pay all taxes while others get similar benefits without contributing.

this is the positve feedback i wanted to get i agree stocker it should be done legally cause no one likes the feeling of always having to l ook over there shoulder the sad thing is most imagrants are friends with imagrants who wouldnt know how to go about the process and that is an issue that needs the attention
